Absolutely. Trade sanctions should be placed on Brazil, a fully capitalist country, until they begin to reverse deforestation of the Amazon, and increased tariffs should be used to encourage China, a partially capitalist country, to hasten their transition away from coal (by the way, one of the main reasons that China is such a large emitter is that western capitalism has outsourced much of its carbon-intensive industry) ... But we in the west have zero moral authority to dictate when our own house isn't in order. In terms of morality and economics, the western world must cut harder and faster.
